”It’s so funny because now that I’m in America, I’m more able to define it. Before I didn’t have an awareness of another style. I think [British style] has to do with the weather. We have terrible weather. It’s very gray and drizzly so we need things to cheer us up. And I think that leads to a lot of creativity and color, and I think that’s why our designers are so innovative.” — Emma Watson
![“It’s just that I was incredibly protected in what I call ‘the bubble’ during Harry Potter and I didn’t realise how much. It’s different now. I think for someone like Rob Pattinson [who started his career in Harry Potter before finding superstardom in Twilight] it’s harder because he’d lived his life one way, then all of a sudden he wasn’t able to. I’ve never known what it’s like to have that kind of freedom. I can’t even imagine what that kind of fame must be like. I’m not in Rob’s position, I don’t have people screaming and crying and clawing at me.” – Emma Watson](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2dmyuyWUo1qgiio5o1_500.png)

“I just do normal stuff. I’ve always exercised. I go to the cinema a lot. I live close to my dad, and my brother Alex, who is three years younger than me, is round the corner. Friends come to me house, I go to theirs. I’ve spent so much time away that maintaining friendships is something I feel really proud of. Even though I’m pretty manic, I’m usually the person they call in a crisis. I like being there for people. – Emma Watson
“I had journalists asking me if this meant I was coming out, if I was a lesbian now.” She rolls her eyes. “That haircut did make me realise how subjective everyone’s opinion is. Some people were crazy for it and some people just thought I’d lost my shit. All I can do is follow my instincts, because I’ll never please everyone.” – Emma Watson
The Italian Vogue photo shoot was a fascinating experience. I was very excited to work with Vogue for the first time, but also to be given the chance to model couture. Each dress was so special and important because it is one of a kind, and we only had a short time to shoot each one before it had to go elsewhere to be worn or shot by someone else. This meant the shoot had a real momentum. And the jewellery to match each dress came with its own security guards.
“I’m going to do what I want to do. I’m going to be who I really am. I’m going to figure out what that is.” — Emma Watson

“In the middle of shooting DH, I went out to dinner with Bonnie Wright, and we started talking about how we really needed to do something to mark the end of this important part if our lives… And then I had the thought of cutting my hair. That felt like an appropriate way of saying goodbye to Hermione.”
“Obviously I have insecurities and doubts. But I just have to do my best and be myself. And then hope that’s enough.” — Emma Watson
